Pittsburgh – Air Force gave up three third-period goals to Robert Morris and lost 3-2 in a College Hockey America game Saturday night.
Robert Morris, 8-15-2, 4-7-1 CHA, swept the two-game series and moved into fourth place in the CHA. Air Force fell to 5-16-1, 3-9 in the league.
Air Force couldn’t score in the first period, but for the first time in six games the Falcons held their opponent scoreless in the first period as goalie Peter Foster stopped all six shots he faced.
The Falcons got on the scoreboard with a second-period power-play goal by Brian Reese at the 5:35 mark. The Falcons dominated the second period as Robert Morris did not have a shot on goal until eight minutes into the period and was outshot, 16-1.
Robert Morris tied the game 1-1 on a power play in the third when David Boguslawski tipped in a rebound.
Air Force took a 2-1 lead on Michael Mayra’s power-play goal at 6:40.
Three minutes later, the Colonials tied the game on Kurt Wright’s goal at the 9:54 mark.
The Colonials netted the game-winner at 15:09 off the stick of Jace Buzek.
Air Force pulled its goal- tender and had a two-man advantage for the final 23 seconds, but couldn’t score.
