Jefferson County authorities say a robber obtained dozens of master keys to homes around Evergreen, along with addresses and names of the homeowners.
The theft at the Highlands Mobile Safe and Lock Company took place on the night of February 5th. The thief or thieves broke into the company’s office and van.
In addition to a lock box with approximately 80 house keys, trade-related tools such as slim-jims, lock picks and other car-opening devices were stolen.
The company and the sheriff’s office are attempting to contact the people whose house keys were in the box, but say others are also at higher risk because of the trademark tools which can be used to gain access to any locked building or vehicle.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information about the burglary to call 303-271-0211.
