Yefim Bronfman has been recognized as one of the world’s great piano virtuosos since the 1980s. Under the Sony Classical label he has recorded with many outstanding musicians, such as his good friend Isaac Stern, Esa-Pekka Salonen and Gary Hoffman. He received the Avery Fisher Prize in 1991. Bronfman performs the popular Russian piano concerto “Tchaikovsky’s First” with the Colorado Springs Philharmonic on Feb. 25 and 26 at the Pikes Peak Center in Colorado Springs. Rhett Miller goes on tour soon in support of his second solo album, “The Believer, set for release Feb. 28. Miller is the vocalist-guitarist and main songwriter for the popular Texas-based band Old 97s, which released a double-disc live album last year. Miller plays the Gothic Theatre on March 20. Tickets go on sale Saturday ($15, TicketWeb).
Aerosmith again has rescheduled what was originally the hard rock group’s Jan. 30 concert at the Pepsi Center. Now it is scheduled for April 13 at the center. (It was announced last week the date would be April 12 .) The opener also has changed, with Cheap Trick replacing Lenny Kravitz. Tickets for the canceled dates will be honored for the April 13 concert. Tickets are on sale ($55- $125, Ticketmaster).
Train released a new album, “For Me, It’s You,” on Jan. 31, mostly to positive reviews. Some critics called it the group’s best effort to date. It marks the first appearance on a Train CD by bassist Johnny Cold, formerly of Black Crowes, and keyboardist Brandon Bush, who played with John Mayer and Shawn Mullins. The Train pulls into Paramount Theatre on April 5. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday ($37.50, Ticketmaster).
