Of all people, Roseanne Barr is blasting the diet industry for exploiting the overweight, contactmusic.com reports.

Barr, one of several celebrities who have had gastric bypass surgery, was quoted by the website as saying: “If everything blows up in the wake of 9/11, the one bright spot will be the fact that the diet industry will be going up in flames along with everything else. … It’s a billion-dollar industry that just uses fat people as lab rats. There is nothing a fat person won’t do if you tell them some product will make them lose weight – nothing apart from getting up off their (rear ends) and stopping eating like hogs.”

Eva Longoria’s “Desperate Housewives” character definitely is no homebody. But in real life with NBA basketball player and boyfriend Tony Parker, Longoria told “Extra” she enjoys the kitchen in her Hollywood Hills home. “I love to cook for him. I love to cook,” Longoria told the gossip show.

Parker’s fave dish? “I always eat the same thing – lemon pepper chicken. I don’t know why she does it so well,” the San Antonio Spurs guard said.

A Longoria castmate, Marcia Cross, revealed some of her wedding plans to “Extra.” “I have seven flower girls, so I’m really excited about that. … No bridesmaids – too old for that.”

Cross is not too young to have fun either. “I’ll be at the kids’ table with the flower girls eating frozen yogurt.”

Shakes, fish helped form a “Dreamgirl”

Beyoncé Knowles claims she has lost 15 pounds to become a “Dreamgirl.” MTV.com reports a diet of protein shakes and fish has trimmed the actress-singer for her role in the film version of the Broadway hit based loosely on the Motown group the Supremes.
