Getting your player ready...

When venturing into unknown territory, it’s always best to follow the locals. And on a Sunday morning in Leadville – a time when most of the elevated town’s Main Street is dormant – Steph & Scott’s Columbine Café is as lively as a beehive. The café’s cheery servers dish out carefully crafted breakfast all day along with meaty lunches, chunky soups and gourmet dinners. The croissant-mounted eggs Bennie are tasty. The banana bread French toast comes thick. The biscuits are as big as a softball. The homemade key lime pie will ferry you to sea level in a single nibble. And make sure to study the selection before asking for hot sauce; they’ve got a few dozen types of tongue-burners on the shelf.
