Tanith Belbin and Ben Agosto this week ended a 30-year U.S. medal drought in Olympic ice dancing by winning the silver medal in Turin, Italy, and now you can see them live. They are scheduled to perform July 22 at the Pepsi Center ($36.60-$134.45, Ticketmaster) and July 23 at the World Arena in Colorado Springs ($67-$142, TicketsWest) as part of the 2006 John Hancock Champions on Ice Tour. Other performers include Michelle Kwan, Sasha Cohen and Irina Slutskaya. Tickets go on sale today.
Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, country music’s reigning royal couple, are selling out show after show on their Soul2Soul II tour. Tickets are selling so fast that the couple has added second shows in some cities. McGraw and Hill last toured together six years ago. They come to the Pepsi Center on Aug. 2. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday ($49.50-$83.50, Ticketmaster).
Tim O’Brien just added another Grammy to his collection with “Fiddler’s Green,” winning this year’s for best traditional folk album. O’Brien is well- known in this area as a member of the now- defunct Hot Rize. After that seminal bluegrass group disbanded, O’Brien moved back to the South and established himself nationally as a singer, songwriter and instrumentalist. He plays at Swallow Hill on March 11. Tickets are on sale ($23-$26, 303-777-1003).
Nickel Creek went home without a Grammy this year but did garner two nominations. “Why Should the Fire Die?” was nominated for best contemporary folk album, and a song from it, “Scotch and Chocolate,” was up for best country instrumental. The trio comes to the Pikes Peak Center in Colorado Springs on April 13. Matt Pond PA opens. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. today ($27, TicketsWest).
