U.S. Rep. John Salazar, D-Manassa, endorsed Democratic gubernatorial candidate Bill Ritter on Wednesday, saying he understands the issues most important to the state’s rural areas.
“As governor, he’ll strive to find solutions to the health care, agriculture, rural development and water issues facing all Coloradans,” said Salazar, who represents the 3rd Congressional District.
Salazar’s brother, U.S. Sen. Ken Salazar, endorsed Ritter two weeks ago.
Democratic state Rep. Gary Lindstrom is also in the gubernatorial race, as are U.S. Rep. Bob Beauprez and his Republican opponent, Marc Holtzman.
