Ames, Iowa – Colorado jumped out to an early nine-point lead, but Iowa State found its offense in the second half Thursday and claimed a 56-46 win over the Buffaloes.

The Cyclones (16-11, 7-9 Big 12) struggled early, shooting a season-low 21.9 percent in the first half and scoring only 17 points, their lowest total for a half in more than two seasons.

Jackie McFarland scored eight of Colorado’s first points as the Buffs (9-20, 3-13) built an 11-2 lead. Whitney Law scored the Buffs’ next eight and CU led 23-17 at the half.

Iowa State went on a 21-0 run midway through the second half to blow open the game.

McFarland became the eighth player in Colorado history to score 500 points.

Law led CU with 20 points.

WYOMING 78, SAN DIEGO STATE 45

Laramie – Erin Hicks scored 13 points, all in the first half, as Wyoming routed San Diego State.

It was the fifth win in a row for the Cowgirls (20-6, 10-5 Mountain West Conference).

San Diego State (3-23, 0-16) lost its 16th consecutive game.
