How’d you know? | Tractor at Red Mountain Ranch, Cedaredge

The winner: Jerry Papara, Highlands Ranch

After visiting the coal mines in Paonia for work, I decided to return to I-70 going over the Grand Mesa.

Just north of Cedaredge is a fruit stand selling cherries, apples, cider and jams. As I pulled in, I noticed the Case tractor parked to the right of the building.

I was born and raised in Racine, Wis., where Case has been based for many years. I remember a similar tractor being in our Fourth of July parade. Stopping at this orchard brought back many childhood memories of apple cider and hayrides pulled by a Case steam tractor. The picture is my 2005 apple crop from one tree in my backyard.
