Happenstance Books & Curiosities
1831 Pearl St., Boulder
303-440-8891
Colorado is lousy with used book shops, but every now and then one stands out from the pack. Happenstance, which started in Loveland but recently opened its doors in Boulder, has a wonderful, quirky, affordable collection. Children’s books and series are especially well- represented (think Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew, and fabulous midcentury teen advice tomes), along with hard-to-find fiction titles and plenty of Colorado-focused gardening and botanical guides. Plus cookbooks!
