Silver worth weight in gold
How sad! Rather than celebrating Sasha Cohen’s silver medal at the Olympics, you denigrate her efforts by running a picture of her on her knees on the ice. Encouraging and supporting strengths – of which Cohen has many – is more important than focusing on momentary falls. “She was doomed before she began.” “Doomed?” – to a silver?

Cohen deserves better
Your Feb. 24 sports section was the most disgusting thing I have read in a long time. Instead of glorifying Sasha Cohen for her grace and charm in winning a silver medal, you chose to feature a photo taking away all her dignity. Not since Peggy Fleming have we had a skater really enjoyable to watch. Then to add insult, you have Mark Kiszla write an article about as un-American as he can be. If nothing else you need to apologize to a young lady who did her best for our country.

Cheers for Foppa
What a great hockey game I saw this morning, Finland vs. Sweden for the gold. That Peter Forsberg was and still is something very special to watch. Admittedly, there wasn’t much we could do about it, but Denver sure misses him.

Done with the Nuggets
That does it! I’ve attended two Nuggets games this year. The level of play was mediocre at best, and the noise level from the incessant “music” is a terrible and unnecessary distraction. Now, the Nuggets hire a registered sex offender (Ruben Patterson) with an assault conviction and a reputation for not getting along with his coach. What’s more, they try to defend the guy’s past behavior. What are they thinking? I will never again attend a Nuggets game.
