The annual fundraiser for Colorado Trout Unlimited at the Seawell Grand Ballroom at the downtown Denver Center for Performing Arts will feature an auction of numerous fishing adventures far and near, along with a variety of equipment and artwork. Fishing grants
The Future Fisherman Foundation will offer $200,000 in grants, available in $5,000 individual stipends, to physical education teachers who incorporate fishing and boating education into their curricula. Since its inception in 2003, the foundation has bestowed $515,000 upon 111 schools in 37 states. Applications must be submitted before April 14. Culvert closure
Access to the boat ramp and handicapped fishing pier at Lon Hagler Reservoir will be interrupted by a culvert replacement project on Larimer County Road 16 E from Monday-Friday. The south side of the reservoir may be reached from County Road 16.
Aurora boating
The scheduled opening for boating at Aurora Reservoir is Wednesday. The popular impoundment, which features fishing for trout, walleye, wiper, bass and perch, allows a wide variety of craft except those powered by gasoline motors.
