Corned beef, corn snow and big air. That’s how Aspen celebrates spring. This weekend’s seventh annual Kick Aspen Big Air Invitational at Aspen Mountain is a springtime spectacle that feeds the X Games spirit responsible for transforming Glitter Gulch into America’s premier Jib Joint. With DJs spinning, bands jamming, fireworks blasting and 10,000 spectating, fearless athletes will huck and spin under the lights at the base of Aspen’s Fanny Hill on Saturday night. Friday night offers a chance for aspiring huckers to spin their way to stardom as part of Aspen’s weekly big air competitions. Thursday offers a free concert. So trip on over to Aspen and watch the blending of music, athleticism and culture in one of Colorado’s rowdiest fetes.
