A man holed up inside his Jefferson County home fired “multiple shots” during a roughly three-hour standoff with police on Monday night.
He surrendered at about 9:45 p.m. and was arrested on suspicion of criminal attempt homicide and reckless endangerment, both felonies, and a number of other charges, said Jacki Kelley, spokeswoman for the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
A 15-year-old called 911 at about 6:25 p.m. to report she’d left a home in the 11000 block of West Alamo Place following a fight with her stepfather, said Kelley.
Deputies who responded to the site, near South Kipling Street, were unable to make contact with anyone inside.
“They walked the perimeter and looked inside and one of the deputies looked and saw a male with a long gun” said Kelley.
The man, whose name was not released, fired at the deputy, but no one was injured.
