Colorado Rapids defender Nat Borchers will be transferred to Norwegian First Division club Odd Grenland, the Rapids said Wednesday.
Colorado will retain Borchers’ rights if he returns to Major League Soccer.
Per MLS policy, terms of the transfer were not disclosed.
The announcement ends two months of waiting on a Norwegian work permit for the University of Denver graduate and Pueblo native.
Borchers, who was named the team’s defensive player of the year last season, started 82 of 83 games for the Rapids. He also earned a cap for the U.S. national team last March vs. Colombia as part of the U.S. team’s successful qualifying for the 2006 World Cup.
