Think inner-city high school students can’t do the un-doable?

Mayor Hickenlooper says they can.

He and wife Helen Thorpe will be hosting the Fringe Fest or Bust, a benefit for North High School’s outstanding drama department who hope to take their Black Masque Theater Company to Edinburgh, Scotland for the prestigious international Fringe Festival.

Discouraged by some that raising the money they need is just something that doesn’t happen anymore, the group’s disparities have been picked up by the community, and Nobody In Particular Presents and our own mayoral royal family are in, too, to help these students raise $60,000 to get them on the other side of the Atlantic.

Silent auctions, free beer and wine, and performances are some of the softer benefits of the event.

The mayor? The look on those kids faces when they actually get to go.

Three women begin to understand each other through tales of their disastrous marriages.

They also take their tops off.

Maybe.
