If the season for fish is upon us, there must be seminars to teach us how to catch them. Lots of seminars. From Grand Junction to Denver to Loveland, next weekend will be filled with the sights and sounds of experts talking fishing.

Noon – Swanson trolling for walleye; Johnson trolling tactics. 1 p.m. – Cox on crankbaits and stickbaits; Stoneback and Lance Schul, preparing for fall hunts. 2 p.m. – Daves fishing plastics for bass; King bass Q&A. 3 p.m. – Massey spinner baits; Gazvoda walleye locations. 4 p.m. – Cox on crankbaits and stickbaits for bass; Randy Allen turkey camouflage. 5 p.m. – Winters jigging for lake trout and walleye; Jim Randash using electronics. 6 p.m. – Sellers crappie fishing; Hix spring turkey. 7 p.m. – David McElwain slow jigging for trout; Winters and Massey spring bass and walleye. 8 p.m. – Johnson choosing jigs.

April 2: 10 a.m. – Landon Mayer trophy trout. 11 a.m. – King drop shot fishing; Massey bass techniques western waters; noon – Randash catching record fish; Allen turkey camouflage. 1 p.m. – Sellers crappie fishing; Cox stickbaits and swimbaits. 2 p.m. – Barry Reynolds fly-fishing for pike; Sellers crappie and walleye in Kansas and Nebraska. 3 p.m. – Cox crankbaits for bass; Johnson live bait rigs for walleye. 4 p.m. – Winters jigging for walleye. 5 p.m. – Hix fly-fishing for trophy trout; Chris and Belle Conway fishing Rocky Mountain National Park. 6 p.m. – Massey topwater for bass; Johnson trolling for walleye.

March 31: Tour of Scott Rod Company, Ross Reels, Whiting Farms. Women’s fly-fishing clinic. Evening social with Marty Bartholomew presentation, “Why I Fish.”

April 1: Fly-tying exhibits, fishing instruction. Evening banquet with Bartholomew’s “Fly Fisher’s Guide to Colorado.”

April 2: Terry Wickstrom fishing tiger muskies at Pinewood Reservoir. Chad LaChance fishing bass at Horsetooth Reservoir. Bernie Keefe fishing kokanee and splake at Carter Reservoir. Gary Darling and Dan Swanson fishing walleye. Ken Kehmeier state of fisheries in Larimer Co. Event includes boat and tackle swap, registration required.
