Orlando, Fla. – Eric Moulds, out. Javon Walker, questionable.
Despite interest in Walker from the Broncos, Green Bay’s disgruntled wide receiver may be staying put. Walker reiterated on Tuesday that he doesn’t intend to play for the Packers again, but the team is reluctant to deal him.
Still, Green Bay general manager Ted Thompson said the team is willing to listen to offers. Any possible trade is unlikely to develop until closer to the April 29-30 draft.
Greg Johnson, the personal adviser for Buffalo’s Moulds, said his client will not play for Denver. This comes less than a week after Johnson said Moulds would love to be a Bronco. However, Denver didn’t show strong interest in trading for the wide receiver and Houston and Philadelphia are making pitches for him.
“At this point, Denver is out,” Johnson said.
As for Walker, Fletcher Smith, one of his agents, said: “Denver could be a good fit, but so would some other teams. We’re not there yet.”
Said Denver coach Mike Shanahan: “We always look at players who are unhappy with their contracts if you feel like they can help us and we can work something out. But (Green Bay) was pretty adamant that they’re not trading him.”
