In this day where celebrities are buying multimillion- dollar homes, it’s refreshing to see Jessica Simpson may be buying an orphanage in Mexico.
Simpson’s publicist, Rob Shuter, confirmed to “Extra” that “Jessica and her family have anonymously contributed money to orphanages for several years. It is true that Jessica is exploring options to further help these children in need.”
Shuter said Simpson started visiting the orphanages with a church group at age 11.
Here’s a piece of artwork to put in your living room: a life-size sculpture of a naked Britney Spears kneeling on a bearskin rug as she gives birth.
Of course, it has the usual controversy accompanying it. The sculpture by Connecticut artist Daniel Edwards will appear next to a display case filled with anti-abortion materials. The exhibit – “Monument to Pro-Life: The Birth of Sean Preston” – will go on display next month at Brooklyn’s Capla Kesting Fine Art gallery. No sale price has been set apparently.
Donny Deutsch paid $1 million more than the asking price – and he even got outbid – but he still managed to snag a six-story townhouse on East 78th Street, the New York Post reported. The owner took the lower offer from the host of CNBC’s “Big Idea with Donny Deutsch” because he preferred dealing with Deutsch’s broker.
Deutsch is staying at a rental apartment at Trump Park Avenue at $65,000 a month, while his new townhome is renovated.
Brad Pitt, below, is bringing his love of architecture to public television. Pitt will narrate “Design: e2,” a series about environmentally friendly architecture slated to air in June on PBS. The six-part series will focus on worldwide efforts to build environmentally friendly structures through sustainable architecture and design.
