“The Film Snob’s Dictionary” What’s the difference between a movie and a film? It’s a movie if it makes the cover of Premier magazine; it’s a film if it makes the cover of Cahiers du Cinema. So says “The Film Snob’s Dictionary,” which attempts to bridge the gap between regular movie fans and obnoxious film buffs. “The Changer and the Changed” Much has changed since Cris Williamson’s groundbreaking album first came out in 1975. Billed as “women’s music,” it was released on Olivia Records, an independent record company founded by women. Despite its meager marketing and lack of critical attention, it went on to sell nearly a million copies and is one of the best-selling independent releases of all time. Williamson has released a 30th anniversary edition of “The Changer and the Changed,” and is touring to commemorate it. She’ll be at the Boulder Theater on April 15.

The Baseball Almanac is the statistics-lover’s dream, with complete stats for the careers of thousands of players, plus lists of records in every imaginable category. There’s also a section of baseball poetry, a guide to keeping score, and a list of U.S. presidents’ ties to the game. For the record, George W. Bush, who once owned the Texas Rangers, has attended two fewer games while in office than Bill Clinton did. He’s expected, however, to throw out the first pitch tomorrow for opening day in Cincinnati.
