Two people were shot at a bar in Denver this morning. One later died from his injuries.
Two suspects were arrested shortly after the shooting at Club Beyond. Gunfire broke out as patrons were leaving, just as the bar closed early this morning.
One victim was taken to Denver Health Medical Center in grave condition, said Sonny Jackson, Denver police spokesman. He later died.
The two shooting suspects were arrested after they plowed into a Denver police squad car at 19th Avenue and Logan Street and took off running.
Authorities have not released the names of the two suspects.
The shooting took place at 1:58 a.m. today, near the bar at 15th Avenue and Welton Street, Jackson said.
One of the victims, a woman, was a bystander who police do not believe was a target of the gunfire, he said.
Friends put her in a car and started driving towards a hospital. They flagged down a police officer at 20th Avenue and California Street. The victim was then taken to a hospital, Jackson said.
Her condition was not known.
Police are investigating what motivated the shooting, he said.
