After only three months, Republican gubernatorial candidate Bob Beauprez and his campaign manager have parted ways.

The departure of Jack St. Martin was on good terms, the campaign said.

“There were disagreements among the staff. Jack’s a class act and professional and put the campaign’s interests first,” said spokesman John Marshall, who is replacing St. Martin as campaign manager.

Marshall will also remain as the campaign’s press spokesman.

St. Martin was a senior vice president of Direct Impact, a Virginia-based grassroots public affairs firm, before starting his work for Beauprez in January. He also had worked for the Republican National Committee.

The Beauprez campaign on Monday said reports that the congressman would not continue to debate GOP rival Marc Holtzman were untrue.

“We’re happy to engage Marc in any forum there is in a civil debate,” Marshall said.

The gubernatorial candidates are required to file financial disclosures next week.

Democratic candidate Bill Ritter on Monday reported raising $465,000 in the first quarter of this year, bringing his total to $1.15 million.

Ritter’s campaign said 1,534 donors contributed in the first quarter.

Overall, the campaign said, 96 percent of the donors were from Colorado.

Holtzman and Beauprez have not yet released their disclosures.
