For Kiefer Sutherland three plus “24” equals $40 million. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Sutherland signed to continue the hit Fox drama for three more years. The pact includes a two-year development deal for Sutherland’s forthcoming production company. Sources said the acting portion alone will total more than $40 million, making Sutherland the highest-paid actor in a drama series. “24” is in its fifth season on Fox.
Teri Hatcher also signed a lucrative deal – with the Disney Co. The Melbourne Herald-Sun reports Hatcher’s earnings are expected to increase to $8.4 million this year. The pact, which could pay her up to $1 million an episode for the ABC hit “Desperate Housewives,” includes a video game, online clothing store and board game linked to the show.

More bling: Michael Jackson doled out $87,000 for a diamond-encrusted Tiret watch, the Daily Mirror of London reported. Jackson, who reportedly is $260 million in debt and is selling off his assets on his Neverland Ranch, bought the timepiece at the Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai. The watch “has 800 diamonds on it and a gold face,” a source said.
Gwyneth Paltrow gave birth to her second child. Moses Martin was born over the weekend in New York City, Paltrow publicist’s confirmed. Paltrow is married to Coldplay singer Chris Martin. The couple’s daughter, Apple, will be 2 on May 14.
Actress Ali Landry married film director Alejandro Gomez Monteverde on Saturday in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, her rep confirmed to People magazine. It is the second marriage for Landry, 32, who was hitched to “Saved by the Bell” star Mario Lopez for a whole seven weeks in 2004.
Jessica Simpson confirmed to MTV.com she has met producers for the screen version of “Dallas” to discuss playing Lucy Ewing. Simpson, who just completed filming on “Employee of the Month” in New Mexico, also is named in a $100 million breach of contract lawsuit, thesmokinggun.com reported. The Tarrant Apparel Group alleges Simpson failed to support a clothing line for low-priced jeans and apparel, and refused to be photographed wearing items from the JS by Jessica Simpson and Princy collections.
