Ricky Gervais turned down $3.5 million to appear in a TV commercial for an American beer, contactmusic.com reported. Gervais said, “My agent said, ‘I know you don’t do adverts but I’ve got to tell you it’s 1 million pounds for one day’s filming.’ I thought about it. And then I thought, so what? But they thought I was negotiating. The power of ‘no’ in Hollywood is so much stronger than ‘yes.’ They offered 2 million (pounds).”
Katie Lee Joel, host of the Bravo reality series “Top Chef,” was so excited to meet her idol, Martha Stewart, when she appeared on the domestic diva’s daytime show she was shaking. She even started crying on the set, but only because of a a big bowl of onions on the counter as she and Stewart prepared a roast chicken. The wife of rocker Billy Joel told the New York Post that Stewart shared a tip to stave off onion tears: “She told me to light a candle to burn the fumes off.”
A former girlfriend of Kevin Federline warned Britney Spears she might want to get back her pop star figure or her hubby might skip town. Felicia Cabiero, quoted by contactmusic.com said, “Kev has always had a problem with people who let themselves go. He was determined that he wouldn’t go that way and wouldn’t be married to a woman who did. When he wed Britney he was sure he had picked a woman who would stay in killer shape all her life, like Madonna or Demi Moore.” Of course, keeping on that weight after giving birth to son Sean Preston could be all part of Britney’s smart scheme.
We’re sure a lot of foul things have been flung at Sharon Osbourne. But recently, the wife of rocker Ozzy Osbourne eluded a shower of soup while leaving the Mayflower Theatre in Southampton, England, where Sharon was appearing in “The Vagina Monologues.” Osbourne “saw the funny side” of the attack, a witness was quoted by contactmusic.com, perhaps because photographers were pelted by the soup.
