Metro State coach Mike Dunlap is not among the finalists for the Pepperdine University men’s basketball job.
“I’m not in that circle,” Dunlap said Tuesday, 10 days after a representative for Pepperdine spoke to him informally about the position.
Dunlap is recruiting and said he expects to sign four to five players for next season. In June, he plans a recruiting trip to Australia, home of several of his best players. – Theresa Smith
Eagles lose, will play Game 7 tonight
Graham Dearle scored two goals to lead Oklahoma City to a 5-4 win over the Colorado Eagles on Tuesday in Game 6 of the Central Hockey League playoffs, forcing a Game 7 tonight at the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland.
Eagles goalie Jeff Blair left the game after coming up slowly after a Dearle goal that tied the game at 3-3 with 7:41 left in the second and was replaced by Paulo Colaiacovo. Ryan Tobler scored a short-handed goal late in the third to bring the Eagles within 5-4, but that ended the scoring.
