Today Greenwood Village-based Alberta Development Partners LLC said it will build a 750,000-square foot retail center at the southwest corner of Parker and Arapahoe roads.

The developer recently acquired the 158-acre site and said the project will include a gourmet market, big-box retailers and a mix of smaller shops and restaurants. The company is also considering including more than 325 units of multi-family housing on the site.

The project will be called Cornerstar. Construction is expected to begin this fall, and stores are expected to open in spring 2008.

Alberta Development has other large retail projects in various stages of development throughout the metro area. Its projects include the Southlands in Aurora, Northlands in Broomfield and the redevelopment of the former Southglenn Mall in Centennial.
