“Domesticities: At Home With New York Times Magazine,” (Bulfinch Press, $40)
This coffee-table book is pure eye candy for architecture and design fans. It was compiled by Pilar Viladas, design editor for The New York Times Magazine. Since it has been 20 years since The New York Times decided to collect its home stories in a book, Viladas had plenty of lush interiors to choose from. Her narratives begin with a profile of a posh Manhattan apartment filled with large-scale paintings and understated antiques, then move on to a sophisticated country home, a restored old farmhouse, and a bright and tidy urban loft. | Elana Ashanti Jefferson
