The best thing on my training table: I’ll eat anything.

Premeet ritual: I just put my shoes on and go race.

Time management tip: My schedule is packed, with a ton of stuff on the weekends. Getting stressed out never helps.

Planned career: International business; will run track at Baylor.

My family: Parents Lisa Ford and Bill Scheuerman; brothers Derek and Kevin Scheuerman.

What I like most about high school sports: The team aspect and friends you get while participating, because you form close bonds.

What I like least about high school sports: I’ve gotten a lot of hassle about the whole steroids thing; the politics, too.

The Denver Post recognizes a female and male student-athlete of the week. At the end of the school year, 10 finalists will be chosen. Ultimately, The Post and The Denver Athletic Club will select one boy and one girl as student-athletes of the year, and a substantial donation will be made to a local charity in their names.
