Eddie McStiff is sort of like Jethro Tull or Lynyrd Skynyrd: a legendary personality who doesn’t really exist. That’s not to say McStiff’s in Moab is lacking in personality. The restaurant and microbrewery on South Main Street has long held the hip qualities to attract hungry mountain-biking mobs. And, to be fair, there really is an Eddie (former Telluride pizzeria owner Eddie Snyder), who joined forces in 1990 with Michael McTigue and Steve “Stiff” Patterson and opened the establishment known for brewing beer in the unlikely locale of Utah. Beyond the custom brews and specialty pizza, patrons will find southwestern standards and a wide array of burgers, sandwiches, and steaks. There’s also a pool table and the Wild Hearts Poker Room upstairs where Texas Hold’em tournaments add some spice to the Moab nights.
Get there — Eddie McStiff’s Restaurant and MicroBrewery, 57 S. Main St. (in the McStiff’s Plaza), Moab. 435-259-BEER
