The Denver Broncos said today they have signed a one-year contract with free-agent linebacker Nate Webster, reuniting the former Tampa Bay Buccaneer with seven-time Pro Bowl safety John Lynch.

Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.

The 6-foot, 240-pound Webster, 28, played his first four years in the NFL with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after they selected him in the third round (90th overall) of the 2000 Draft. He spent the past two seasons with Cincinnati.

In 67 regular-season games over his career, including nine starts, Webster has logged 213 tackles, including 132 solo, two sacks for 17 yards and 29 special-teams tackles. He also has participated in five postseason games including the 2002 Super Bowl with Tampa Bay.

After leading Cincinnati with 26 tackles in the first three games of the 2004 season as its starting middle linebacker, Webster was placed on injured reserve with a knee injury suffered in Week 4. He played in only one game in the 2005 season.

In February, the Broncos signed a deal to keep Lynch, who signed with the Broncos from Tampa in 2004, in Denver through the 2008 season.
