Regis team, Mines golfer shining at regional
The Regis University men’s golf team was in second place heading into today’s final round of the NCAA Division II Northwest Regional at The Legacy Golf Resort in Phoenix after shooting a 6-over-par 290 on Tuesday.
The Rangers stood 14 strokes behind St. Cloud State, which had a 14-over 582 total. Fort Lewis was fifth at 606. CSU-Pueblo and Colorado-Colorado Springs were tied for seventh at 610. Chris Little of St. Cloud State and Colorado Mines’ Mark Vallee, who is competing as an individual, were tied for first place in the medalist standings at 1-over 143. Andrew Hedrick of CSU-Pueblo and Chris Sylvia of Regis were one stroke behind.
