Voters OK fire district’s mill levy
A mill levy increase sought by the Inter-Canyon Fire Protection District was approved 272-97 in Tuesday’s special election.
The district, which serves a 54-square-mile area along U.S. 285 in the foothills, will use the money to replace older vehicles in its 15-vehicle fleet.

Free smoke detectors offered
A free smoke-detector distribution and educational expo will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Aurora Fire Station No. 1, at Dayton Street and East 16th Avenue.
