Getting your player ready...

Height: 6 feet

Weight: 180 pounds

Age: 17. Born Dec. 1, 1988, in Denver.

High school sport: Swimming (national champion in 100-yard butterfly; has won Colorado championships in the 100 fly, 500 free and individual medley).

Grade-point average: 3.4

Class: Junior

My favorite subjects: Mathematics and chemistry. I have always understood them. There’s always a clear answer and I like that.

My favorite athlete: Champ Bailey. I think he’s determined to get the job done.

My favorite team: Detroit Pistons. They really don’t necessarily have one star. They play as a team.

The best thing on my training table: Chicken Parmesan with fettuccine Alfredo.

Time management tip: Find time wherever it is, whether at school or home. Make use of every moment you have.

Planned career: Considering property management in business or civil engineering.

My family: Parents Bernie and Judy; sister Ann.

I would love to visit: The Mediterranean Sea area, specifically Greece.

What I like most about high school sports: The total team effect. When you get into club stuff, you always don’t get the team effect.

Preps

The Denver Post recognizes a female and male student-athlete of the week. At the end of the school year, 10 finalists will be chosen. Ultimately, The Post and The Denver Athletic Club will select one boy and one girl as student-athletes of the year, and a substantial donation will be made to a local charity in their names.
