Murder in a hotel

“Murder They Vowed: An Off-the-Track Mystery,” a murder mystery presented by Hotel de Paris Museum, Chamber and Tourism Bureau of Clear Creek County and Blue Mountain Talent Inc., will be at 7 p.m. May 27. Guests arrive at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $30. For tickets, call 303-567-4660.

Estes Park Art Market

The Art Market will be in Estes Park’s Bond Park May 27-29. The park is in the center of Estes Park, west of the municipal building. There will be fine arts and crafts, including paintings, photography, wood art, sculpture, glass, jewelery, ceramics, fiber, textiles, leather and more. The Art Market’s hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 27 and 28, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 29. Admission is free. Call the Art Center at 970-586-5882.

Train ride to open

On Memorial Day weekend, the Leadville Colorado and Southern Railroad will be opening for its 20th season. The train uses a 1955 diesel engine to haul passengers up and down the historic line, and it stops just short of the Climax Molybdenum Mine. See wildflowers, wild life and scenery from 11,000 feet on the train. Call 866-386-3936.

Music, lobster fest

The Carbondale Music and Lobster Fest will be June 23-24. Fresh lobster will be flown in from Maine. There will be music, a beer and wine tent, kids’ activities and lobster served at hourly “sittings.” Lobster tickets will be pre-sold; event day walk-ups will not be guaranteed. July 4th in Gunnison

The Gunnison Rotary Club’s annual Independence Day celebration will be July 4 and features a block-party atmosphere in Jorgensen Park with music, food booths, family activities and fireworks starting at dusk. Visit gunnisoncrestedbutte.com.

A Vail Fourth

Fourth of July festivities in Vail include a parade in the morning, entertainment and concerts throughout the day, and a fireworks display at 9:45 p.m. at Golden Peak. Visit allvail.com.

Gorge murder mystery

Royal Gorge Route Railroad Murder Mystery Dinner Trains run July 6 and 20 and again Aug. 3 and 17. Customers experience a “whodunnit” murder mystery while on a roundtrip train ride through Royal Gorge.
