Police are investigating a double shooting at an apartment complex, in which one man was killed, and the second victim drove to a Wendy’s to get help.

The injured man was taken to an Aurora hospital where his condition was unknown, said Sonny Jackson, Denver police spokesman.

The surviving victim told authorities he and the other man were shot in an apartment complex a few blocks away at 11110 E. Dartmouth Ave. in Denver, Jackson said.

The motive of the shooting that happened just before 2 a.m. is under investigation, he said.

Homicide detectives will interview the hospitalized victim for details about the shooting to determine if he knows who shot them, Jackson said.

After the shooting the wounded driver made it to a Wendy’s at 3110 S. Parker Rd. and an employee at the restaurant called Aurora police.

Police found a body slumped in the passenger seat of the car, Jackson said.
