Gwyneth Paltrow always has been known as a health nut. But at a charity auction to support the 30th anniversary of the Prince’s Trust, Paltrow plopped down $56,000 for a yoga lesson. Virginia Madsen reveals in the recent issue of More magazine how she worked out with a 74-year-old trainer after being diagnosed with postpartum depression after the birth of her son Jack: “He helps me to imagine the kind of 60- or 70-year-old I want to become. Janet Jackson told “Entertainment Tonight” how she dropped 60 pounds to prepare for her upcoming concert tour, promoting her new CD, “20 Years Old,” due in September. “I worked really hard, and I continue to work very hard,” Jackson told “ET.” “I have to give credit to my parents’ genes I suppose, and just working with great people (who) make me look good, and nutrition and a great trainer.” Jackson said she ballooned to 180 pounds for a movie role that fizzled. “They wanted a full-figured woman. She’s from the South, a waitress.” The project was delayed, and Jackson dropped out to work on her CD. She said she thinks Mariah Carey may take the role now. “I started my regimen in January; it took a ‘little minute,”‘ Jackson laughed. “I’ve still got work to do. I have to build my endurance and muscle for the tour. That’s the next phase.”
