Capitol Hill People’s Fair

This annual event at Civic Center Park always serves up a thick, multilayered slice of local music. Stop by on Saturday for sets from Mercury Project, Wendy Woo, Future Jazz Project, Jett Black and others. Sunday features Rubber Planet, Flobots, State of Sound, Angie Stevens, Starfuzz, Melissa Ivey and more, including belly dancers and buskers. 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Sunday. Free.

SPIV Elvis Tribute

Local rockabilly act and Elvis-lover SPIV (a.k.a. Chris Barber) will give The King the tribute he deserves at the Oriental Theater on Saturday. SPIV will cover everything from Elvis’ Sun Studio days to his comeback special and Vegas years. The 18-piece Windjammers Jazz Orchestra plays backup. 4335 W. 44th Ave. 8 p.m. $10.

SOBO Summerfest 2006

The Southern Sun Pub and Brewery’s second Summerfest will raise money for the Boulder County AIDS Project and the Boulder-Cuba Sister City Organization. Stop by for special microbrews and live tunes from The Motet, Ricardo Lemvo and Makina Loca, Quemando and Arthur Lee Land Band. Saturday at Table Mesa Shopping Center, Table Mesa Drive and South Broadway in Boulder. 11:30 a.m.-9 p.m. Free.
