Kelsey Grammer may run for office and is still a strong supporter of President Bush, the “X-Men: The Last Stand” star told the New York Daily News.
“On the political front,” Grammer, 51, said, “I think the problem in government is that everything is measured. Politics is a game of equivocation, but there can be no half-measures in dealing with the difficulties we face abroad.
“When mistakes are made, they must be addressed, corrected and condemned without equivocation. Successes, however, must also be acknowledged, and brought to light with the same fervor. I believe that George Bush has taken a valiant stance in a dangerous time for this country.”
So what about his own political ambitions? Will he run for office? “Maybe,” Grammer told the paper.
Lindsay Lohan is making nice with Paris Hilton.
Hot on the heels of Brandon Davis’ piggish rant (with Paris) and the Stavros Niarchos hookup (with Lindsay), Star magazine reports Paris was clubbing it up with sis Nicky, Courtney Love and friends, hanging at a VIP table at the L.A. hot spot Hyde – when Lindsay walked in the door. At first, a source reports, Lindsay roamed the club, looking as if she couldn’t find a friend.
“Then she finally just came over. And then she sat down right next to Nicky!” The stunned group sat silently as Lindsay began chatting away. “She starts saying, ‘Hey, guys, what’s going on.’ Like nothing ever happened!”
Paris smiled politely but said not a word. While conversation at the table moved on, Lindsay sat silently before confiding to Nicky, “You know, I never saw the video (in which Davis, with Paris Hilton giggling in the background, graphically insults Lohan), so, you know, I’m not mad.”
The Red Hot Chili Peppers have just released a huge new album, “Stadium Arcadium,” but the New York Post reports its success is marred by insiders’ charges that the CD’s hit single is uncomfortably similar to a Tom Petty hit from the ’90s.
“The single ‘Dani California’ (currently No. 1 on Billboard modern- and mainstream-rock charts) is a huge hit – but there is a major problem,” one source claimed. “The song has the same chord progression, melody and tempo of Petty’s ‘Mary Jane’s Last Dance.’ The song even has a similar lyrical theme.”
The source said, “Tom Petty was made aware of this and is looking into legal ramifications. The Chili Peppers could be facing a huge plagiarism lawsuit – which is a major problem for Warners. Both bands are on the Warner Bros. label. If Tom sues, the album, which is Warner’s biggest hit of the year, would have to be pulled from shelves pending litigation.”
Anna Nicole Smith has confirmed that she’s pregnant, in a video clip posted on her website.
“Let me stop all the rumors. Yes, I am pregnant. I’m happy, I’m very very happy about it. Everything’s goin’ really, really good and I’ll be checking in and out periodically on the Web, and I’ll let you see me as I’m growing,” the 38-year-old former reality TV star and Playboy playmate says.
Smith, who is floating on an inflatable raft in a swimming pool as a small white dog barks in the background, did not provide any details.
Taylor Hicks has taken step two on his “American Idol”-fueled career, signing the record contract that comes with winning the hit show. The gray-haired crooner inked a pact with music mogul Clive Davis in conjunction with 19 Recordings Unlimited, the label managed by “AI” creator Simon Fuller, it was announced Wednesday.
