The essence of fly-fishing is to match the fur-and-feather frauds lurking in the fly box to the real insects flitting around the streams.

Jim Lewis can help. A veteran angler who has explored most major rivers on the continent, the Denver resident will identify and replicate the major insect hatches Tuesday at a meeting of the Colorado Women FlyFishers.

Lewis’ presentation is at 7:30 p.m., following a social and dinner period that begins at 5:30. The event will be at Piccolo’s Restaurant, 3563 S. Monaco Parkway, phone 303-985-4479.
