The Rockies’ offensive drought has left Aaron Cook high and dry. The right-hander has started two of the six games in which the Rockies have been shut out this season. Last Tuesday in San Diego, Cook pitched seven innings and allowed just two runs. But the Padres’ Chris Young took a no-hitter into the eighth inning, and the Rockies lost 2-0. Cook (5-5, 3.31 ERA) has faced the Pittsburgh Pirates four times, including one start. Ian Snell, a 24-year-old right-hander, has emerged as Pittsburgh’s best pitcher. Snell (5-3, 5.52) has won three consecutive starts and five of his past six decisions.
