Tom Cruise finally seems to have decided how much Katie Holmes is worth. According to Life & Style Weekly, the prenuptial agreement will give Holmes as much as $33 million, meaning a wedding could be in the offing. Holmes will receive $3 million a year up to $33 million for each year that she is married to Cruise, plus a palatial home in Montecito, Calif. If the marriage lasts longer than 11 years, the prenup is voided and California’s community property law kicks in – half of Cruise’s fortune would go to Holmes. Ain’t love grand?

Paul Oakenfold was stunned when he first heard actress Brittany Murphy sing on his new single “Faster Kill Pussycat,” the Sun in London reported. The DJ said of Murphy: “Her voice wasn’t what I had expected. I think people should judge the record for the record. I’d rather they listened to the song first and then know it was Brittany. Otherwise people say it’s another actress trying to do a record and it throws you a little bit.”
Dan Rather’s days at CBS appear to be numbered, the New York Post reported. The former anchorman is likely to leave the network at the end of this year, the Post reported Wednesday, citing an industry insider. Meanwhile, in an unauthorized Rather biography, “Lone Star,” fellow “60 Minutes” correspondent Morley Safer told author Alan Weisman, he “has not been a friend of Rather’s for years, since their days in Vietnam.” The animosity dates to Safer’s report about a platoon of Marines burning a Vietnamese village. “When Rather replaced me … he went to a group of Marines and said, ‘If I were you guys, I would have shot him.’ Or words to that effect,” Safer said. “And that my report should never have gone on the air.” “Lone Star” is due out in September.
