An Arapahoe County sheriff’s deputy has been arrested for sexual assault.
Darrell Jack Sanders, 25, was accused by a 26-year-old woman with whom he’s had a longterm relationship.
The alleged incident took place early Saturday. Officers were called to Sky Ridge Hospital at 4:20 a.m. The woman said she’d been physically and sexually assaulted by Sanders earlier that morning.
Sanders has been an Arapahoe County sheriff’s deputy since 2004, assigned to the Justice Center Detentions Facility.
He was arrested Saturday evening, and advised in court this morning about the domestic violence charges he faces, which include felony sexual assault, and misdemeanor assault.
He is being held in lieu of $50,000 bond.
Sanders’ next court appearance is Thursday.
He has been suspended without pay during the investigation.
