Brighton pedestrian killed in crash while crossing Interstate 76

A pedestrian died Saturday night after being hit by a car while trying to cross Interstate 76 in Brighton, police said.

Brighton officers responded to the fatal crash on I-76 near East Bromley Lane at about 7:15 p.m. Saturday, according to a news release from the police department. The pedestrian, a 33-year-old man who has not been publicly identified, was hit by two eastbound vehicles while crossing the highway, police said.

The man died from his injuries at the scene of the crash, according to the release. He will be identified by the Adams County Coroner’s Office.

Both drivers remained on scene and are cooperating with the investigation, police said.

Eastbound I-76 was closed for several hours Saturday night during the crash cleanup and investigation, police said. The highway reopened shortly after 11 p.m., according to a .
