Denver Outlaws midfielders Chris Cercy, Mike Law, Josh Sims and Jeff Sonke and goaltender Trevor Tierney have been chosen to play in Major League Lacrosse’s all-star game. The MLL all-stars will play Team USA on July 6 at Nickerson Field in Boston. Tierney will be playing for Team USA, which will play in the world championships July 13-22 in London, Ontario.
CC’s Sterling academic All-American
Colorado College graduate Brett Sterling earned academic All-America honors for the second consecutive year. Sterling, who led the Tigers’ hockey team with 31 goals last season, was voted to ESPN The Magazine’s national second team in the university division.
Indigenous Games shortened one day
The Colorado Indigenous Games Society has shortened the 2006 North American Indigenous Games in Denver by one day. The opening ceremony will be July 2 at Invesco Field at Mile High, and the closing ceremony will be July 8 instead of July 9.
