Police found a man who who had been shot to death slumped in the back seat of an SUV early this morning in Westminster, authorities say.

The victim was in one of two cars that sped away from a house on 11100 Alcott St. at 2:20 a.m., Westminster police investigator Wayne Read said.

The victim, whose identity has not been released, was described as a young man. Authorities were attempting to contact family members.

Police received calls about a loud party and a gunshot at the home, Read said.

An officer stopped a red Ford SUV and when he looked in the back seat he saw a man who was not moving. The officer then noticed that the victim had a gunshot wound.

Westminster police are actively searching for the suspect at this time.
