The body of a 40-year-old Centennial man who fell from his boat into Lake Granby on June 11 was discovered this morning, the Grand County sheriff said.
Members of the Estes Park Dive Team discovered Jim Sorensen’s body in about 62 feet of water, near where the accident occurred, Sheriff Rod Johnson reported.
Sorensen somehow tumbled from a 12-foot motorboat, leaving two small children in the boat. Fishermen in nearby boats were alerted by the screaming of the 6-year-old girl and 4-year-old boy, the only witnesses to the incident. The children were wearing life vests, but it isn’t known if Sorensen was wearing one.
The search for Sorensen’s body continued every day with the help of many agencies, Johnson said in a release.
