Strike up the band
The Montrose Community Band presents its fourth annual free patriotic concert at 7 p.m. Friday on the lawn of the Montrose Pavilion. Take chairs or blankets, and a picnic and ice cream will be available for a donation. In the event of rain, the concert will move indoors. Call 970-252-0918.
Steamboat gets the blues

Breck art festival July 1-3
The 23rd annual July Art Festival will be Saturday through July 3 on Main Street at Wellington in Breckenridge. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. The show features more than 159 artists accepted by jury, representing more than 20 states, with one artist coming all the way from Britain. Exhibit honors Pike
The Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum celebrates the Pike Bicentennial on July 14. Original Pike documents from the National Archives will be on display at CSPM through August. See Pike’s handwritten orders and the maps he created showing his route through Colorado. Call 719-385-5990.

Going back in time
As part of the Zebulon Pike Bicentennial, the Colorado Springs Pioneer Museum invites the public to Antlers Park on July 15. Officials will unearth a time capsule buried during the Pike Centennial in 1906. Race for the Cure July 15
