Janus Capital Group today announced replacements for a pair of portfolio managers who will leave the Denver-based mutual fund company at month’s end.

Blaine Rollins, a 16-year Janus veteran who publically announced his resignation today, will be replaced on the Triton Fund by a pair of Janus research analysts, Brian Schaub, 28, and Chad Meade, 29.

Claire Young, who joined Janus in 1992, also announced her resignation today. She will be replaced on the $2 billion Olympus Fund by Ron Sachs, 38, already portfolio manager of the Orion Fund.

Sachs will also replace Young on the Janus World Funds Plc – U.S. All Cap Growth Fund.

Both Young, 40, and Rollins, 39, will leave Janus to devote more time personal pursuits, including family and charity, the company said in a statement.

“Although we’ll miss (Rollins and Young), they leave behind a strong team with exceptional talent that is ready to deliver for shareholders,” Gary Black, Janus chief executive since January, said in a statement.

Meade, a former financial analyst for Goldman Sachs, joined Janus in 2001. He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.

Schaub, a chartered financial analyst, came to Janus in 2000. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Williams College in Williamstown, Mass.

Sachs, the new Olympus manager, has worked for Janus since 1996. He will continue to manage the Orion Fund, which he has headed since its inception in 2000.

During that time, the Orion Fund has earned a five-star rating from Morningstar, the company’s highest designation.
