DU names LeRoy its new alpine ski coach
The University of Denver hired Andrew LeRoy to be its alpine ski coach, athletic director Peg Bradley-Doppes said Thursday.
LeRoy, who in 2000 won an NCAA national championship in the slalom while skiing for the University of Colorado, was a first team All-American. He was most recently the alpine coach at the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club and was a member of the U.S. Ski Team during the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano and was an assistant at CU from 2001-02. LeRoy replaces Lasse Paulsen, who resigned in May and helped lead the Pioneers to the 2005 national championship.
