Katharine McPhee, the latest “American Idol” runner-up, tells People magazine in its recent issue she “struggled with bulimia for five years” and that the Fox talent show “saved my life.” After successfully auditioning for “Idol” last fall, McPhee, 22, sought help. In October of last year, McPhee spent three months at Los Angeles’ Eating Disorder Center of California, undergoing group and individual therapy, six days a week. McPhee, whose first single comes out Tuesday, admits she still is learning to deal with stress. “That’s why I say ‘American Idol’ saved my life, because if I hadn’t auditioned I don’t think I would have gotten a handle on food.”
Even as the gorgeous Kate on the ABC hit “Lost” Evangeline Lilly remains self-conscious about her body. Lilly told Reveal magazine: “I’ve never felt so stressed or conscious of how I look. If you walk into my bathroom, the mirror is covered by a sarong. I just want to forget what I look like when I get home.” Lilly, who is dating co-star Dominic Monaghan, said she “kicked up a real fuss” over a semi-nude scene in the first episode. The scene was rewritten and she wore a tank top and pants.
LL Cool J wants his fans and critics to know: He’s not doing steroids, and he has not had plastic surgery. “There are so many people speculating over what they think that I am doing,” the rapper-actor was quoted by ananova.com. “It tells me they cheat and they’re cheaters. They’re not willing to make the sacrifices necessary, and go through the pain necessary, in order to get in the best shape they can possibly be, so they don’t believe I am willing to do it either.” Cool J’s secret? “I really do work out hard, and I really do diet. I really did do it.”
Sydney, Australia – Church bells rang out over Nicole Kidman’s hometown Sunday to announce her marriage to country music star Keith Urban in a lavish but intimate ceremony attended by relatives, close friends and a smattering of Hollywood stars.
Nicole Kidman , 39, accompanied by her father, Antony, smiled and waved to well-wishers outside the Gothic- style St. Patrick’s College building, which was dramatically floodlit for the evening ceremony, reportedly a traditional Roman Catholic service.
The nuptials were held in a small chapel on the compound atop cliffs overlooking a beach.
It is the first marriage for KeithUrban, 38, a Grammy-winning country music star. Kidman and actor Tom Cruise divorced in 2001 after 10 years of marriage.
The newlyweds were expected to spend the night in Sydney before leaving for what local media said would be a Fiji resort honeymoon.
The wedding guest list included Australian movie stars Russell Crowe, Hugh Jackman and Naomi Watts, and media mogul Rupert Murdoch. “Moulin Rouge” director Baz Luhrmann was expected to be in charge of the wedding video. A quartet from the Sydney Symphony Orchestra was expected to perform, as was Jackman.
Kidman’s sister, Antonia, and daughter, Isabella, 13, arrived dressed as bridesmaids. Her son, Connor, 11, also was expected to participate in the ceremony.
